Dr. Brian Trites has special training to be an orthodontist. Dr. Trites graduated from Mount Allison University with a Bachelor of Science degree. He then attended Dalhousie University in Halifax where he earned his dental degree (Doctor of Dental Surgery). Dr. Trites practiced general dentistry for nearly five years, gaining valuable experience before deciding to specialize in Orthodontics. Dr. Trites received a Masters degree in Orthodontics at the University of Western Ontario. During this time, he conducted research on Orthodontic braces and published the scientific study in the leading Orthodontic journal. Dr. Trites has also earned a fellowship in the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.

Dr. Trites is a member of the following professional associations: Canadian Association of Orthodontists, American Association of Orthodontists, Atlantic Orthodontic Association, New Brunswick Dental and Fredericton Dental Society and has a fellowship in the Academy of Dentistry International.

In his free time, Dr. Trites enjoys spending time with his wife, Donna and 3 daughters Hannah, Emily and Nicole. Dr. Trites also enjoys playing hockey (former university varsity player), skiing, golf, tennis, squash, running and biking.

Dr Trites takes a keen interest in the Fredericton community by being involved with various community organizations. Dr. Trites is a major sponsor of the Fredericton District Soccer Association (FDSA), YMCA Youth Basketball League, Kids Of Steel Triathlon Series, Go For 42 kids fun run, is a board member of the Fredericton Community Foundation and involved with the Fredericton New YMCA campaign.
